FAQs

Can I store my board inflated?
Yes, you can, however we recommend you store your board deflated. Do not store the board in direct sunlight or near a heat source.  Do not store for extended periods of time in temperatures above 90 degrees.

Can I take the board on an airplane?
Yes, we have flown with our boards often! Always check with the airline baggage requirements before you travel with your SUP. You may want to wrap your SUP Backpack in something like secure wrap, the clear wrap you can find in most airports.

I don’t think my air pressure gauge on my pump is working, what do I do?
Most likely your air pressure gauge is working. The gauge will not register until 7-8 PSI, which is about 4-5 minutes of pumping.

Is it ok to ride with my dog on board?
Yes, our boards are durable for your dogs (and cats?)! Your dog’s nails will not puncture the board, but they may scratch the deck or EVA pad. Be careful when helping your dog on and off the board.

Will rocks or sunken logs damage my inflatable board?
Although our boards are made from military grade PVC material, it is possible a sharp object can damage your board at high speed. Our boards are made to withstand most light impacts with rocks, logs, etc.

How do I install the fins on my GILI SUP?
Slide and push the fins into the groove and lock the fin with the rear latch. Be sure to read the instructions that come with your paddle board.  The center fin has a tighter fit, so may require a bit more force when first installing the fin.

How do I inflate my board?
Be sure to read the instructions that come with your board. Attach the air hose to the “out” side of the pump. Locate the air valve at the rear of the board, make sure the valve pin is in the up position before inflation. Attach the other end of the hose to the high pressure air valve by inserting and twisting the hose clockwise into the valve. Inflate the board to 12-15 PSI. The air pressure gauge will not register until you reach 7-8 PSI. When fully inflated, remove the pump hose, carefully, by twisting counter clockwise. Replace the valve cover on the air valve.

How do I deflate my board?
Make sure your board is dry before deflation. You do not want any water to get inside the board. Remove the valve cover. Press and hold down the valve pin/button and turn counter-clockwise for 1/4 of a turn. Air will rush out loudly for a few seconds - don’t be alarmed! Allow the air to escape for a few minutes. Roll the board from the nose. Continue rolling and use the strap to secure the board once rolled up. Remember to lock the valve in the up position before inflating!

Do not, under any circumstances, use the valve wrench to deflate your board.

How long does it take to inflate your boards?
All of our inflatable paddle boards ship with dual action pumps - it takes the average person 5 to 10 minutes to inflate our boards to 12-15 PSI.

How do I repair a leak in my board?
Smaller leaks can be repaired with the included repair kit. For bigger leaks we recommend taking your board to a professional boat or repair shop to repair your board.

What comes in your inflatable SUP packages?
Our inflatable paddle board package includes the board, dual action hand pump and hose, detachable center & side fins, paddle, ankle leash, repair kit, and SUP backpack.

Can GILI boards be used in the ocean?
Absolutely! Our boards are meant for any body of water. If you are new to paddle boarding we suggest you try the board on a calm body of water before venturing out into waves. Wash your board with fresh water and let it dry completely before storing your board.

Is there a weight limit on your inflatables?
You can find the weight capacity on all of our board product pages. Experienced riders can exceed this limit.

My board isn’t holding air, what do I do?
